Went to the Deptford Project for breakfast today - full english v good. Staff were friendly and the layout of the cafe was good. There is also a decked outside seating area. Good range of sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes.

I tried this place for the first time today. Excellent design, lovely outdoor space, and well-made coffee from sustainable sources. It's outrageously cheap for London (70p for a cup of tea).

And Deptford X art projects were installed around the carriage, which was perfect for a post-caffeination browse.

    This has potential!

I had heard of this place a while back but only managed to visit it today...oh dear this has the potential to be a legendary venue in London. Firstly though, its a fantastic concept and location with fantastic food but it is totally let down by a bad layout, (i had to move everytime a waitress went past!!!) staff that are too busy eating their own lunch (in between serving!!!)to deliver the food and very unconscientious servers. I dont mean to be harsh but I really love Deptford and have been working and studying here for the past 7 years and was so excited about this and feel that with a little bit of thought and care this could be a real gem that we all could be very very proud of however as a first time visitor I found little that made me want top return again !!!! :((
The food and beverages were excellent though and will return only to see if any changes are made to make it a really memorable experience.
Would have got more stars if i didn't have to move everytime the waitress went past!!!!!
    :)
