This is a fabulous little independently run shop. They have so many different things for sale here, i really don't think my review will adequately be able to describe how fantastic it is stepping into this shop! The smells of all the different types of food hit you are one and the aromas are delicious. The cakes from here are some of my favourite - so light and fluffy, or chocolately and scrummy! Prices are more expensive that those you would be from the supermarket but you are getting a better quality product with a service that is fantastic! It definately is service with a smile (and a very sexy one at that!)

This is a great little shop for buying cakes jam and olive oil. I do like jam and although I sometimes make my own I never seem to have enough to last. The other day though I thought I’d try some different jam to the supermarket brand and so I tried this shop, they were very friendly and helped me chose everything that I needed. They were very polite and said please and thank you which I think is nice and is something you generally only get from a little shop like this. I will definitely be going there again to buy more jam as it was really good quality and not too expensive!!!

These guys love what they do and it reflects in the food and service. They use the best quality produce and it's always fresh. The quantities they dish out are always generous. Sambos and salads are all extremely tastey and very healthy. The staff are always friendly and very courteous. They have definitely set the standard for London Liverpool Street!

    10/10

ps coffee is good but it could be better if they add a 'flat white' to the menu (check out 'Flat White' and 'Milk Bar' in Soho). When they do this i'll give them 11/10.

This is from another time altogether. Small, charming and dusty in a good way. I kind of expected to be served by a little old lady in the middle of knitting socks for her grandchildren, but was greated by a young guy of about 18 i'd say. Very pleasant, but looked slightly out of place. This was not a bad thing, just kind of amusing. Coffee was great and I will definitely be going back. Reminded me of the film 'Chocolat'. Sorry for the long review. Basically, just go there!

This is such a cute little place. Verde & Company is a kind of delicatessen and small grocery shop that sells small cakes, jam, honey, olive oil, foie gras, and even some Tibetan Food! The shop owner is a very friendly man who will also prepare you some coffee and if you are nice with him he'll also give you some free cakes as he did with us... probably due to the female company we had in our group. In any case this is a top place just off Spitafields market and Liverpool Street.

    *** ADDITION ***
Returned to Verde & Company a few days ago to see Harvey, see picture, who is also the owner of the place. As I waited to have a chat with him about his business I was amazed by the level of attention he was giving to one of his best customers, an elderly and elegant woman. Not only was he very kind to her, but he also provided her with great tips about what she could do with the items she was buying. It is this kind of informatin which I find heavily lacking in most shops around London. The kind of information about the products you buy and how you could cook them is priceless in terms of building a relationship between yourself and the shop.
