    Cheesy

What more can be said? It has a great selection of cheeses and the staff are helpful and know lots about what they are selling

I would recommend 'black bomber' as one of the best cheddars you will ever have tasted! But, they don't just stock British cheeses, but a wide variety of continental ones also. Their selection of goat and sheep milk cheeses is impressive and the range of blues mouth-watering.

The only small downside is the small shopping area, and if you are short, like me, you can't always see everything that is available, though if you just ask, the staff will help

Avoid Saturdays as it is really busy, but a great independent shop which we should all champion

    More cheese Gromit?

The Cheese Hamlet pretty much does what it says on the tin. It sells cheese. A lot of cheese.

Situated in the middle of Didsbury village the small shop is packed full of cheese (obviously), and all things a cheese connoisseur may appreciate - good biscuits, fine port, a tasty pickle etc etc. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and will help you pick out the exact sort of cheese that you didn't even know you were after.

The only criticism is that on a Saturday afternoon the small space does get rather crowded, which you don't experience on the cheese aisle in Tescos. However, Tescos doesn't come close to the quality and quantity available from this little cheese specialist.

The cheese hamlet has won countless awards and I'm reliably informed that it's been going since 1946. So quite frankly, they must be doing something right.
