this is a very unusal tea bar in that you can choose from a huge range of tea blends. they have jars and jars of different kinds from all over the world for you to choose from, i never realised how strange some teas looked! there are blends of teas with all sorts of exotic and bizzare things, like vanilla and ginger. they sound strange but they work really well. there is also some information on what effects the tea can have and how they are good for you.

there is also a selection of cakes so this is the classic place to come for a cuppa tea and a slice of cake!

marks and spencers food halls is my favourite place in any normal m&s store, so a sote devoted to it is great. they stock every single ready meal - all the healthy ones and the pub gastro ones! i haven't managed to get the meal for a tenner from here yet but you have to get there early for that i have heard. i bought a lovely packet of sirlon steak in crushed black peppers with a diane sauce last week which was fabulous. there is a simpley massive selection of desserts, recenty i tried a lemon souffle which was yummy. m&s food is the only pre made food i have had which tastes like its just been homemade. if i could afford it i'd pop in hear to get my dinner every night!

This is a cellar pub and restaurant that serves standard pub fayre and beers, ales and wine. The restaurant area itself is very charming and the low curved cellar ceilings add to the atmosphere. its nice and old fashioned and has a warm and cosy feel to it especially during the winter. I haven’t been in here when it hasn’t been crowded and have always had to jostle for a table. Once sat down thought you are in your own little tucked away wold where you can relax away from the hustle and bustle of london. The food has always been served quickly but sometimes the portions can be a little small!

This is quite a unique and strange place, the frontage is all red glass and the interior red and black ! its very striking yet manages to be funky rather than garish with its low lightening and trendy music. This place is cocktail heaven and each one is made with great attention to detail. They have a huge rage of cocktails including one thats a lovely mix of rasberry and cranberry, this is nice and sweet and a vibrant red and actually works quite well. As you would expect it isn’t a cheap place but the bar staff really are well trained in the art of cocktails and were able to reel off all the ingredients of a vast array of them until we made our minds up. Very unusual and bold.

Ok so I am not a gambling fan so why review a casino! because I have been in here many time with my now ex, I wasn’t a member but could go in with him. Casinos are supposed to be classy swanky joints? Not this one, well ok so its ok and its central (under leicester square) and yes its well run and has lots of tables, but the essense of this place is kind of sad. It isn’t the posh victoria casino with the chandaliiers and the well dressed people out to be seen more than to gamble, the napolean is full of people who can’t afford to gamble, the woman who gambled her bus fair home, this is more a culture of gambling, it was just these regular people loosing money they couldn’t afford to and they didn’t seem to enjoy it either. This is more of a dive members casino.

the great northern railway Tavern is a very quaint smalold traditional english pub, it looks lovely from the outside with large old fashioned windows and smooth stone walls. This is an old beer and ale bar and they serve every of beer kind imagineable. Its nice inside with old wooden floors, high wooded bar stools (all of which wobble a bit) and lots of wooden tables. It isn’t a plush bar or that comfy but it really is as it would have been years ago which is what makes it so charming. There are goremet beers (bottled) from all around the world and people come here for oriential food too which makes it a strange but really good mix. There isn’t another pub like this in london, thai food in a pub, classic, its one of my favourites.

This is a remarkable place, well thought out, well designed and just truly amazing, they have like a red leather room, or rather a large kind of booth or cove, like the walls are part of a chesterfield sofa, it has red leather benches around the side and you are just cacooned in this amazing redness. There were about 12 of us and it still wasn’t full! There are a few more booths like this each with different themes and we plan to go back to them all! The celing is quite low and the dance floor isn’t large but this is a truly unique place and a must see. The cocktails are amazing, food wise its more steak and burgers. The staff here are friendly and welcoming, highly recommened especially if you go as a group – book in advance if you do

platinum is buzzing club, it gets really packed on a Saturday, this place has great DJ’s with the funkyest sounds! There is just enough room to dance yourself crazy, no one stays still the whole place is pumping! There was even a live ska band recently. This place has a great almost underground feel to it like you discovered a london secret here, its not full of tourists or trendy wanna bes everyone is here for the sounds. The staff are really friendly as the night just gets better and better as it goes on, the only downside is leaving! I think they do food here too, not so sure but most of us arrive after that kinda time anyway. The drinks are inexpensive – this place is all about the funky vibe, devine!

This is one of my favourite theatres, its so tiny, it only hold about 20 rows of people and if you are lucky enough to be in the front rows the show starts in amonsgt the audience. This theatre has shown the woman in black for years upon years which is one of my favourite plays. It only stars two characters, I wont go into too much detail as I don’t want to spoil it. If like me you had read the book first and been scared then you wont be dissapointed by the play. You can often get cheaper tickets on the day from the covent garden ticket offices. This is a lovely initmate venue that is reputed to be haunted!

Plush thistle hotel in a beautiful old fashioned building. You walk into a high ceiling’d hallway with chandalleris and into what would have been an old drawing room on the left (and it is still done out as such with old fashioned heavily upholstered furniture) to the reception desk. The service is professional as you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The room we stayed in had a view of a brick wall out of the window but aside from that it was plush with dressing table and chair and a posh bathroom. The hotel bar is very posh and has a long granite bar and a good selection of decent wines and it is open very late. Breakfast is quite something here and includes every kind of englsih breakfast item cooked to perfection. Not a cheap hotel but quality in a great location.
